Static

 I have never

Had a winter

So surrounded

By death

I should be

Thankful

For each

And every

Fucking

Breath

Still

I’m frozen

In memories

Of the past

Afraid to hold on

To anything too

Tightly

As the waves of grief

Ebb and flow

I feel tied

To an anchor

Unable to

Let go.

Is that all there is:

I’m filing a nail that has been

Jagged for over 2 weeks now

I’m choosing to ride my bike

In the sunshine

Instead of doing the

Laundry and vacuuming

Like I should

Because

I leave for work in the dark

I come home in the dark

And I feel my life

Painfully

Passing me by

As I am just trying

To fucking

Survive

Winter always

Brings a heavy

Blanket of grief

And no time to

Process and rest

My aching bones

Beneath.

Love Surreal

 I don’t remember

Much about that night

I do recall the tiles of light

That adorned my hips

Moving and stretching

With each frantic breath

Professing earnestly

That

I’ll love you harder

I promise

Dissolve you

Under my tongue

Like a sugar-cube

With the vow

Of sacred visions

In a jaded world

The past is dust

Let us create

For one another

What we never

Have before.

A hue of orange that lulls you home

 Sometimes

The sunset is a

Beautiful blur

Illuminated in your

Rearview mirror

And you know it’s not

The destination

But the one beside

You

That makes everything

Clearer

The haze of the day

Slowly fades away

As you unfurl

Into this moment

Taking snapshots

In your mind

Filling pages

With lines

Hoping

It will

Be enough

To always

Hold it.

180 Miles

White as bone
Carried by sea foam
Left like offerings
In the sun
Leaving me
With fevered dreams
That can never be
Washed clean
In this city
Where the ocean
Is far from home.

Gone

I linger

In train yards

Fingers

Brushing walls

Of the past

Cold steel

Warm memories

Whispering

Softly in the wind…

I leave you

Lips raw

Stockings torn

Bruised thighs

Wondering

Why

I am

Leaving at all…

I love you

In the safest

Of spaces

Holding you

Like a treasure

Clasped

In a gentle fist

Heart wide

Eyes amazed

That you exist

So effortlessly

So beautifully.

Royalty

Who am I
To devour
Ripe
Red
Strawberries
In the
Dead of winter
Not a sign
Of life
In sight
Teeth
Gnashing
Juice
Dripping
FUCK
It feels
GOOD
To be this
ALIVE!
